The right water heater will give you all the hot water you want while reducing your energy costs. What is the right water heater for you? We will be happy to look at your needs and recommend the best options. Don’t be fooled into simply going big: a hot water tank that is too big will actually increase your costs. We will explain the pros and cons of traditional hot water tanks versus on-demand (tankless) water heaters and boilers.

Installation and Removal

Installing or replacing a water heater is not a do-it-yourself job. You need a professional and in most cases a permit. A professional installer is necessary as water tanks require natural gas or high-voltage electrical hook-ups and proper venting of carbon monoxide gas. If the unit is not installed properly there is the risk of catastrophic damage including injury to residents. Our trained professionals know the local ventilation codes and will ensure your water heater is properly installed so you can enjoy years of hot water worry free.

Types of Water Heaters

Today’s water heaters are super energy-efficient and some even have self-cleaning systems to reduce lime and sediment buildup. Depending on your location and your needs, you may need either a gas or electric water heater. Your energy costs will depend on your location and the model of water heater you choose.

Conventional Hot Water Tanks

A residential hot water tank stores up to 80 gallons of water and heats it continually. They are economical and excellent for high usage. Typically they are stored in a closet or basement though other options such as in your garage are feasible.

Tankless Hot Water Heaters

Tankless water heaters are also known as on-demand water heaters have been around for a couple decades. They offer lower operating costs, much-reduced space requirements and can reduce energy consumption by as much as 30%. They provide continuous hot water at a precise temperature, on-demand water heaters cost more upfront and are not ideal for heavy usage.

Do You Need a New Water Heater?

Your water heater is likely failing if you notice…
  • Water buildup in or around your water heater
  • Visible rust or sediment in your hot water
  • Water is not hot enough
  • You run out of hot water sooner than before

Water Heater Maintenance

Like so many other plumbing items in your home, your water heater is easy to forget. However, they are subject to wear and tear and do require regular maintenance in order to provide you with long life and reduced energy costs. In particular, conventional hot water tanks need to be flushed once a year to remove built up sediment. Not doing so reduces the amount of water the tank holds, increases energy costs and can drastically shorten the life of the tank.

All of our technicians can install and repair any make of water heater. We offer prompt, 24-hour emergency service so that, in the event of a problem, you will have hot water back in your home in the shortest possible time.
